Calling All Artists: A New Gallery Space in Canton, Ohio is Taking Shape—And We Want You In It
Are you an artist dreaming of more visibility, more sales, and a supportive community—but don’t have your own studio or gallery space? If so, I’m writing this for you.
We’re in the early planning stages of establishing a new art gallery and boutique space in Canton, Ohio, and our vision is simple but powerful: to create a vibrant, inclusive home for artists of all mediums who want to show, share, and sell their work without the barriers of high overhead or isolation.
This won’t be a traditional white-wall gallery.
This will be a creative haven—part gallery, part collective, part cultural hub. A space for painters, photographers, fiber artists, ceramicists, writers, jewelers, mixed media makers, and visionaries of every kind.
And the best part? You don’t need your own studio or storefront to participate.
Why We’re Doing This
We know how hard it can be to break into the gallery world, especially when you’re an emerging artist or balancing your creative practice with jobs, family, and life. We also know that Canton is full of talent that deserves to be seen and celebrated.
This new gallery space will:
• Offer consignment opportunities to exhibit and sell your work
• Provide rotating wall and shelf space for artists across disciplines
• Host community events, art workshops, and open houses
• Support local artists through promotion, marketing, and storytelling
• Create an environment of collaboration over competition
Whether you’ve never shown in a gallery before or you’re looking for a new venue to expand your reach, we want to hear from you.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re currently gauging interest from:
• Visual artists (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics)
• Fiber and textile artists
• Artisans and makers (handmade jewelry, home goods, wearables)
• Writers and poets looking to sell books or zines
• Artists who create with unconventional or mixed media
• Creatives who align with our values of community, inclusivity, and innovation
You don’t have to be “established.” You just need passion, professionalism, and a desire to grow.
What We’re Exploring
Right now, we’re in the planning phase, which means we’re shaping the space around the needs and dreams of the community. Some of what we’re envisioning includes:
• Consignment partnerships with flexible terms
• Low commission rates to keep money in your pocket
• Themed exhibitions and pop-up opportunities
• Dedicated artist spotlights and promotions
• A small curated retail section for artisan goods
• Affordable community workspaces and shared art supplies.
